I had National Geographic shoes when I was 12. They were legit good shoes. But I got made fun of for having "magazine" shoes. Everyone bothred me about them

I found out they had National Geographic Vans. I just ordered a pair from Ebay..

I liked them for one thing. But I feel like there is a deeper reason for me buying these.

Does anyone know why?

Maybe they remind you of the good old days.

Something similar happened to me a while ago. I replayed an old retro game, and there were some *ugly* characters that my big brother used to tease me by saying I resembled them. That led to an argument or fight between us. Now, as an adult, replaying the game fills me with nostalgia whenever I see these characters. Eventually, two of them even became my favorites.

There could be other factors though.

They say what is in style comes and goes. Wear them long enough, and maybe they'll make fun of you again.
When I was a young teen, converse Chuck Taylor All Stars were an important part of the ghetto uniform. (along with khaki pants and T-shirt). All my friends had them. They cost about $4. My parents would only spring for the Bob Cousy sneakers which went for about $2.50.
And it really did scar me for life. Today I have more shoes than Imelda Marcos. If I see a pair of athletic shoes I want, I get them. And now I've gotten too old to play basketball so I can't wear them out. They just pile up in the closet. And yes, Chuck Taylors are back in style!

But do people still wear the hi-tops? Because if so, any brand that sells blister bandaging....buy some of their stock!

I mean you liked the nat geo shoes then, why wouldn't you like something similar now? Because some other kids didn't?? Just shows you put your opinion before theirs which is great, I think.
