Sounds a bit odd for sure. Not making front page headlines in most media I've seen though.

Its getting more intense. But people on reddit are saying its mass hysteria and similar to when a couple people dressed up as clowns back in 2016 then suddenly everyone was seeing them.

I’m surprised there aren’t more reports of this nature, given the ease with which they can be purchased.
We occasionally get them over our area, and the noise really irritates me. We’re only a small local area though, and someone usually posts a moan on the local Facebook group and it usually turns out to be someone taking aerial photographs to try to sell. Other than the irritating noise, and the fact that I wouldn’t particularly want one failing in mid flight and causing some damage, I can’t say I can be bothered to get too worked up over them. I wouldn’t be very happy if one was buzzing by a window on my property., but in terms of being used for surveillance, we are already at a time when we are the most monitored society ever to live - and most of the information we provide freely on social media. I dread to think how many CCTV cameras, dashcams, door bell cameras, etc., I appear on when I take even a short journey around my local area. I can’t see it changing any time soon. I can see it’s a bigger headache for government and private facilities that don’t want people snooping or compromising their day to day routines. They're drones and they came from an Iranian mothership!!!
Whaaat??? Not they're not! They're security drones making sure trump's stuff in Jersey is safe! Wake up man...it's China...who else could it be??? It's China for sure! You guys are so blind...so so blind. The deep state has access to the best drone tech...these are trial run monitoring systems for the final takeover. Hey are you the vendor with the tinfoil hats? Got any left? By the way Area 51 has an Area 51-b...it's deep in the New Jersey pine barrens. You're all nuts. I'll sum it up in one word....aliens from beyond the moon. ...and so on and so on. *big eyeroll + headshake* |

What is it, specifically, that’s freaking you out, @Mountaindewed?

Idk. To be honest I think I have some kind of stomach bug or something thats making my emotions go all over the place. I've been weirdly sick this weekend and when I'm sick my anxiety is high.

Read about the vagus nerve. The gist of it is, your entrails are a second brain, reacting to emotions. You know, the butterflies in your stomach are a real thing.

Everybody is freaking out still and Rosie O' Donnel is like "the aliens are here"
Idk. They explained that people were seeing the same few drones, not 100s of different ones, and most were airplanes or man made shyt and people had a slight case of hysteria. Rosie has always been full of it.

Consider the slice of the population who are drawn to believing this story. Who are they? Might they all share some link with regards to personal ideologies, lifestyles, politics, personality traits, principles etc., etc? Might there be a common noticeable enough thread running through them all that could explain a little more about why and how this sort of hysteria foments?
Can habitually chasing and echoing conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory be related behavior? That's the stuff which interests me. Answers to our sociological hiccups. We need 'em. Now more than ever. |

Most of the sightings are of manned aircraft. This is classic "mass hysteria" which is amplified by social media nowadays.
Yes, there are probably a few more drone flights in the sky than there were a year or two ago. There will be more a year or two from now as drones are used for more things by more people. I'm not sure why people feel these are any more threatening than there being more cars on the road or more ways for a social media site monitoring your online behavior -- things we just accept without notice or much thought.

As someone who lives where the sky is generally very clear, I can tell you that there's a lot of "stuff" up there, and it's easy to misinterpret, particularly if someone has no idea what they're seeing. My guess is that you're seeing a sudden awareness of the sky above, and it's become a point of focus. And let's face it, the media (and potentially other people) are going to use it like click-bait to get attention.
For example, the number of satellites in space at this point is quite high. Those can also be perceived as unusual objects flying in the atmosphere, especially if there's atmospheric disturbances that might make them appear different than they actually are. Back in the 80s, you could spend all evening outside, and maybe see one satellite cross the sky; now, it would be unusual not to spot one within just a couple of minutes. If you happen to see the international space station go across the sky, and don't know what it is, it will seriously freak you out- it's huge and moves fast. The ISS has shown up on a couple of credible UFO hunting shows. Commercial aircraft look different, and potentially suspicious, depending on their path of travel. Small aircraft are low, and generally look and sound like small aircraft. Larger aircraft can be deceiving depending on their path of travel. Flying lower, on approach to an airport, they appear like a large, white light gliding across the horizon. At traveling altitude, they are very high, and look like a smaller, white light crossing the heavens. If they're moving toward or away from you, they may look like they're hovering. They aren't close, you won't hear them. Taking drones into consideration, you could probably make a quick list of many legitimate uses for a drone. They are used very often where I live. It isn't unusual to get notifications about drone usage, just because agencies are trying to avoid this kind of panic. Utilities will often do lengthy inspections of their equipment and infrastructure with drones, and our health department uses drones to inspect neighborhoods for unkempt pools and other bodies of water- because mosquito borne diseases are a big issue. And there's always a possibility that law enforcement is using drones to combat bigger public safety issues- like various kinds of trafficking. And more than one person has mistaken a star on the horizon for a moving object. So, yeah, no aliens, probably just multiple, rational explanations that maybe don't even affect most of us. |
