I got home from work early yesterday and was amped up to get my stuff done for the weekend. One of those things was cutting the grass. Normally it would just be a quick hour-and-fifteen minutes and, boom, I'm done. However, yesterday was different.
When I came home, the neighbor across the street and two houses down was having a graduation party. Tent in the front yard, lots of people, and cars up-and-down the street. I thought, "Hey, it's my right and my decision as to when I cut the grass." Then I weighed it and opted to wait until this morning to do it so as to not look like an inconsiderate jerk and be disruptive. By the way, the neighbor in question is a super sweet lady and we get along extremely well so she might not have thought anything of it. What would you have done? Mow away or waited until this morning? I'm curious to hear what you may think. |

Actually, it IS reciprocated. She's an elderly widow so I take in her garbage cans and shovel her snow and she gives us a nice gift certificate for Omaha Steaks every Christmas. Like I said, she's a good lady and great neighbor.

If I got on well with the neighbours I’d have done exactly what you did. It’s the right thing to do.

I’d not be cutting grass when people are having a party. That would be rather mean of me, especially if it’s graduation party. Regardless if I get along with this person.
