There were 2 beds and a pull out couch. I have pneumonia and a bad knee injury. I tried sleeping on the pull out couch but it was all spring and the springs were digging into my knee and hurt like hell. So my mom took the spring bed and I took one of the beds and my brother got the other bed.
I feel like it was ok to take the bed considering I have an injury and am sick. It’s not like I didn’t try the couch first.

If you have medical condition, then I guess it’s ok. It’s just curious that you both slept on beds but elderly mother in the pull out. Your mother doesn’t have an easy life

My brother should have slept on the couch but she didn’t ask and I didn’t want to get into it on a holiday. She was ok with it.
But I did tell her to hire someone to shovel the snow because she can’t do it and I have weird BP issues and so she is paying the guy who mows our lawn to shovel.

She didn’t have to ask. It’s kind of a given. Not something one asks her adult kids for: “Hey do you mind I sleep on a bed?” She is ok with a lot of things because what else she’s going to do.
I am glad she’s not shoveling snow. My dad refuses to let us shovel his snow or hire anyone. He’s 88. Very stubborn. I don’t shovel snow if I can help it and I am not that old. Lots of elderly die of heart attacks in the winter because of too much shoveling . |
