Hi my name is trm, I have been suffering with depression since 2005
But I would like to talk about something that is making me feel so much worse, my son still lives at home, with myself and my wife. He is 35 this year, has ADHD, and spends most of his day in his room on his computer or VR headset. Recently he has been panicking about things he has no control over, forinstance his computer had a message pop up saying his computer was under attack, even though it was protected with that many barriers, (that Microsoft would be impressed). But he freaked out, he was making his self sick ,wouldn't sleep, we have got him a appointment with his doctor on the 15th September. His ADHD doesn't help , he is up all night on voice chat with his friends , but i think some of these friends are giving him bad advice. He goes for a walk most nights for about 10 minutes, not very long but he is off his computer. My fear is he is expecting the doctor on the 15th is going to make everything better. My depression is suffering trying to help him, by talking with him and listening to his conspiracy theories. Sorry for going on, but i needed to write this down to get it straight in my head.

@therealme It's hard to care for a disabled loved one and not have it hurt deeply. Not sure what you could tell your son to make him feel better. Perhaps have the Geek Squad or some professional IT company check his computer and write a ticket saying everything checks out fine and that his computer is protected? My cousin was autistic and when he got upset about something it was hard to redirect him.

It was difficult to see my Autistic daughter spiral into frustration and rage. But those fits were temporary. Hope your son overcomes this quickly.
