The sidewalk on hospital grounds has 3ft of snow on it and it hasn’t even snowed in a week or so, so one lane of a super busy street is pedestrians now. (Hospital ensuring business flow. Lotta pedestrian hits this winter).

Don’t say it’s too cold because it’s gonna warm up and then melt and then cool down and freeze and instead of 3ft of snow it’s gonna be 3in of ice.

Oh, we have had cold since that winter storm went through 2 weeks ago. Started off as snow & ended up an ice storm. Some places 6 inches of solid ice including roads they couldn't clear. Teens & single digit temps (central Ky) so everything is still frozen. Most of us un the country still have solid frozen driveways. My whole back field is solid ice. Cote made it into his hockey rink. He digs up chunks of ice in more protected areas & slides them around all over the field. I only tossed his frisbee a few feet to start & he would slide halfway down the field towards the woods trying to pick it up. He has actually has the most fun in this weather.

My garage door was frozen shut. Thought I sould go out the basement door & walk up to my mailbox after 5 days. Took 2 steps off my basement patio & side slipped (on my feet) 6 ft down my back field. Chuncked some foot places with the water main key I had in my hand just to be able to get back up to the patio. Took a few more days & a day in the 20's to have enough traction to make it up to my mailbox.

Luckily they kept our road fairly clear cause 2nd day after the ice storm hit my neighbors barn caught on fire. We had every county fire vehicle & an ambulance & a huge tanker with water slowly heading up to his barn with sirens full blast. They got the fire out, saved most of the barn & no animals lost.

They just started chipping away at the ice on some streets this week. Thankful for my 4x4 truck that pretty much can drive anywhere. Have to say the highlight has been watching Cote play & skate on the solid ice....we are cold but warm predicted next week

Eskie, my Aussie loved the cold too. She never got to play on ice, but would tear around the yard. We called it dog Orbitz. She would run laps around the yard, going so fast her side would almost touch the ground.

They have so much fun. Once Cote figured out how to mostly manage his 4x4 legs, he took off to explore around the edge of my woods. We are still solid ice until the thaw next week. I am thankful he is my good off leash boy. Lets him be free to run & explore. My lab would just run & come back when she felt like it or as normal I would be chasing after her in my truck & in this ice, not something I want to do. I bought her a beautiful horse blanket like coat in hunting orange. Laugh at her cause she hates to go potty with it on so we compromise for a short while. They both love their outside snow/ice time the best of all seasons
