I came across this topic on Facebook and would like to share it. I have always been an animal lover and felt they were very capable of forming deep loyal connections. I felt they were actually receptive in a way that humans don’t understand.

It’s nice to see that people are finally respecting the bonding that can take place between people and animals.

I talk to my cat all the time... she's very communicative and expressive (after all, she is my cat LOL). I also blink my eyes slowly at her, which I have read is cat language for "I love you." She always does it back to me :-) Fun fact: cats don't meow at other cats; they picked up meowing because it got our (humans') attention.

I have long conversations with my cat. I tell her everything I'm doing as I do it. She tells me what she thinks I need to know or what she needs me to do. We also have routines, like I tell her the same thing "I'm taking a shower now. You know the rules. No barging in, no scratching the woodwork and please don't knock the door down". If I don't say that she barges in. If I do she doesn't. My mom found it funny when I was first showering after breaking my ankle.

I used to do the "love you" blinks with my other cat before she died. This girl has never picked it up although I've tried.

@unaluna it sounds like it! I think that was actually her brother (also the woodwork was him) but I've been saying it for 9 years now and don't really know how to shower without.
