healing from trauma

Hi everyone, I have started online therapy at better help. I was using 7 cups for texting for a year in the hopes of my therapist would be able to see me again.

It is looking like my trauma therapist is not going to contact me. It's hard and painful.

I am hoping better help will be good for me. I think having weekly sessions again will help me get back on track and I need more support then what 7 cups was giving me.

My husband has dementia, kidney and heart failure. Things have not improved only is getting worse. He still wont go see a doctor.

Some good news next Wednesday will be 7 years since I have had any alcohol.

I'm sorry about your therapist. And sorry to hear about your husband as well. But serious congrats on your sobriety! That's amazing. Really really good job. I hope better help will work out for you.

I have my first phone/voice session tomorrow. They did match me with a therapist that seems to be good for me so far. We have been chatting a bit each day and so far it seems like it's going to work out for me.

On 7cups the therapists only did text and it was supportive. It got me through a year. Also with my experience at mental health I needed time to heal from my file being closed. I think now I'm ready to work on my goal of healing trauma again.

Same. Hope tomorrow goes well.

L and I communicate in all formats: in-person, virtual, phone and text. Was doing therapy through texts hard? I like using texts as reassurances and logistics, but it must be hard having that as your only support.

I like phone sessions. I like getting to hear the tone of her voice. Plus way less stimulation. I find I can concentrate better vs in-person.

Is there a chance you could do virtual? To get to see each other and see facial expressions?
