I honestly cried afterwards because I just feel like a bum magnet.

I went out one evening to a local bottle shop/ coffee shop. Low key, safe space for me. A small surprise music venue was happening with local musicians.

A man introduces himself, and I get his email.

He seemed a little strange. I considered him awkward.

We email and he asks to go out for coffee.

I feel reluctant but half suspect he won’t show up.

He does show up. He seems friendly, says he’s a musician which sounds kind of like ********.

He admits to having multiple mental illnesses that he is medicated for. He seems really attracted to me. I wasn’t expecting a date.

He briefly shows me where he lives and it is an open drug market. I told him it looks awful. He says he’s been homeless before. He keeps losing his housing. Major red flag.

He tries to put moves on me.

He starts talking about an ex fiancée which is a massive red flag.

I decide I am not dating this guy. Too many issues. Too much drama.

He emails me the next day about having a wonderful time with me, and I tell him I am not interested in a relationship. He then says his ex is kicking him out of his place, and he is homeless for the next few days. He asks to come sleep on my couch. I say no.

It feels like I dodged a hobosexual. Like his ex was fixing to kick him out and he was looking for his next victim. Rook you into a relationship so you feel compelled to provide housing.

I am proud I set boundaries. I am sad this is who I attracted.

I agree you are definitely smart to set your boundaries & stick with them! That guy sounds like a trainwreck and terrible "date". You dodged a bullet there!
